Why we built CompoundList
Sourcing a chemical should not mean wading through copied listings, invented prices and suppliers who cannot be checked. Yet that is often what buyers find. Large chemical directories grew by publishing as many pages as possible, not by making sure each page was right. Suppliers, for their part, pay for visibility that rarely turns into real inquiries.
We think there is a better way: start from accurate chemical data, make every supplier claim checkable, and design the buying process around what both sides actually need to do business.

What we stand for
Chemical data you can check. CAS numbers are checked before they reach a page, measured and computed values are told apart, and safety summaries are clearly marked as not a safety data sheet. Structure drawings are generated by us. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
Honest supplier information. Verification badges show what we checked and when. Profiles that no company manages yet are clearly labelled "Unclaimed profile" until the company claims them with its official business email and our team verifies the claim. We never invent prices, ratings, reviews or certificates.
Clear labelling of paid positions. Sponsored positions and advertisements are always labelled. Organic supplier rankings follow one documented score: membership plan, verification, response rate and speed, listing completeness, freshness and buyer ratings, with relevance to your words first in search. The weights are published on Sell on CompoundList.
Safety and compliance first. We block narcotics, chemical weapons precursors and other prohibited substances, and add checks for restricted chemicals. See our controlled substances policy.
Respect for buyers' privacy. Buyer contact details stay masked until the buyer accepts a quote, so requests for quote do not turn into spam.
One price view per region. Visitors in India see prices in Indian rupees and visitors everywhere else see US dollars, so there is no guessing about currency.
Global from day one
CompoundList is built for the global chemical trade, covering every major vertical from basic inorganics and petrochemicals to pharmaceuticals, cosmetic ingredients, paints and coatings, agrochemicals, food and feed additives, polymers and laboratory reagents. Buyers and suppliers from any country can join.
