For buyers

Always free for buyers. No subscription, no fees on your orders.

  1. Step 1. Find the chemical

Search by name, synonym, CAS number, formula or by drawing a structure. Each chemical page shows identifiers, properties, safety summaries and trade data in one place.

  2. Step 2. Compare suppliers

See who lists it, by country, grade and verification level. Open company pages for certificates, documents and response times.

  3. Step 3. Ask for quotes

Send one request for quote to up to 10 matching suppliers, or upload a whole list for a bulk quote. You can also message a supplier directly.

  4. Step 4. Choose and connect

Compare quotes side by side. Accept the best one to share contact details, ask for samples and agree terms directly with the supplier.

What happens to a request for quote

From your request to a shortlist of quotes, step by step.

  1. Step 1. You

    Describe what you need

The chemical, quantity, grade or purity, destination country and when you need it. You confirm your email with a one-time code the first time.

Or upload a whole list for a bulk quote

  2. Step 2. CompoundList

    We check the request

Every request is screened for controlled substances, spam and contact details in the text. Requests that look incomplete or unusual are held for a person to review.

Clear, complete requests go live straight away

  3. Step 3. CompoundList

    Matching suppliers are told

Your request goes first to up to 10 best-matching suppliers, chosen by how well they match and by our documented score. Only they can quote for 7 days. If you have fewer than 3 quotes by then, it opens to every matching supplier.

Your name and contact details stay hidden

  4. Step 4. Suppliers

    Quotes arrive in your dashboard

Each quote shows price, grade and purity, lead time, Incoterms, payment terms and documents, so you can compare them side by side and ask questions in messages.

The request stays open for 30 days

  5. Step 5. You

    Accept the quote you like

Accepting shares your contact details with that supplier only. Ask for a sample or certificate of analysis, then agree terms and pay the supplier directly.

    CompoundList takes no commission

Your contact details stay private

Requests for quote should bring you offers, not spam.

Masked until you accept

Suppliers see what you need, how much and where it goes. Your name, company, email and phone stay hidden until you accept a quote.

Messages without numbers

Phone numbers, emails and links written in messages are masked until contacts are shared, so nobody can move you off the platform early.

You decide who gets them

Accepting a quote shares your details with that supplier only. You can also choose to share them with a supplier at any time.

For suppliers

Reach buyers who are already looking for what you make or trade.

  1. Step 1. Register or claim

Create a supplier account and confirm your email with a one-time code. If your company is already listed, claim that profile with your official company email and our team verifies it.

  2. Step 2. List your products

Add up to 25 products free. Paid plans add more listings and bulk upload from Excel or CSV.

  3. Step 3. Get verified

Add your tax or registry number and upload licences. Badges appear once our team has checked them.

  4. Step 4. Quote and win orders

Answer inquiries from your inbox and unlock matching buy leads with credits or your plan's monthly unlocks.

Plans, lead credits and TopRank are explained on the pricing page. The supplier order on chemical pages follows a documented score.

Trust and safety

The rules that apply to every buyer, supplier and listing.

Badges with dates

Verification badges say what we checked and when. Profiles no company manages yet are labelled Unclaimed profile.

Controlled substances blocked

Narcotics, chemical weapons precursors and other prohibited chemicals cannot be listed or requested. Restricted ones need documents.

Scam warnings in messages

Messages are checked for common fraud patterns, such as requests to pay a personal account or in crypto. The reader sees a warning and our team reviews the conversation.

Reviews from real orders

Only buyers who received a quote and placed an order can review a supplier. Suppliers cannot pay to remove a fair review.

Paid positions labelled

TopRank positions and banners are always marked Sponsored and never mixed into the organic supplier order.

Report anything

Every listing, profile and message has a report link. Our compliance team reviews every report.

Questions from buyers

Quick answers about searching, quotes and contacting suppliers.

How do I get quotes from several suppliers at once?
Open a chemical page and press Get quotes, or go to Post a request for quote. Describe the product, grade, quantity, packing, destination and delivery terms. We send your request to up to 10 matching suppliers and you compare their quotes side by side in your dashboard.
Will suppliers see my phone number and email?
No. Your contact details stay masked while suppliers quote. They are shared only with the supplier whose quote you accept. Until then all conversation happens through CompoundList messages.
Can I upload a list of chemicals for one bulk quote?
Yes. Use Bulk quote from a list to paste or upload a spreadsheet of names or CAS numbers with quantities. We match each line to a chemical, show you anything we could not match and send the request to suppliers who carry those products.
How long does a request for quote stay open?
Requests stay open for 30 days by default. You can close a request early once you have the quotes you need, or extend it from your dashboard.
Can I ask for a sample before ordering?
Yes, when the supplier offers samples. Look for the Request sample button on the product page. Sample terms such as quantity, cost and courier charges are set by each supplier.
What does Unclaimed profile mean on a supplier page?
It means the company has not yet taken control of its profile on CompoundList. Product lists on unclaimed profiles are price on request. Treat them as a starting point and verify the company before you buy. A company representative can claim the profile with an official email address on the company's own website domain.
How do I save chemicals and set price alerts?
Sign in and press Save on any chemical, product or supplier. Saved items appear in your dashboard. On a chemical page you can also set an alert to be told when new offers or price changes appear.
Does CompoundList handle payment or escrow?
Not yet. Payment is agreed directly with the supplier. We plan to add an optional trade assurance service later. Until then, use payment terms you are comfortable with, such as a letter of credit for a first order with a new supplier.
