In line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (IT Rules) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, CompoundList has appointed a grievance officer to receive and resolve complaints from users and from anyone affected by content on compoundlist.com.

Grievance officer

  • Name: Grievance Officer, CompoundList
  • Email: compliance@compoundlist.com
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00 India Standard Time, except public holidays

What you can complain about

  • Content on CompoundList, such as a listing, company profile, review, message or request for quote, that you believe is unlawful, misleading, infringes your rights or breaks our terms of use
  • Listings or requests involving controlled or prohibited substances (see our controlled substances policy)
  • Impersonation of you or your company, or a profile that wrongly uses your company's name or trademarks
  • Infringement of copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property
  • The way we process your personal data, or a request about your data rights that has not been resolved (see our privacy policy)
  • Decisions we made about your account or content, such as removal of a listing or suspension of an account

How to file a grievance

Send an email to compliance@compoundlist.com with:

  1. your name and contact details, and your account email if you have an account
  2. the link (URL) to the content or page concerned, or another clear way to identify it
  3. a description of the problem and why you believe it is unlawful or breaks our rules
  4. any supporting documents, such as proof of ownership of a trademark or authority to act for a company
  5. a statement that the information in your complaint is true to the best of your knowledge

If you are complaining on behalf of someone else, include proof that you are authorised to do so.

What happens next

  • We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours of receiving it.
  • We review it and resolve it within 15 days of receipt, and tell you the outcome and our reasons.
  • Where a complaint concerns content that the IT Rules require to be removed faster, such as content that exposes the private areas of a person or impersonates a person in a sexual manner, we act on it within 24 hours.
  • We may ask you for more information. The 15 day period may be affected if we cannot reach you or you do not provide information we need.

We may take down, restrict or label content while we review a complaint. If we remove content you posted, we will tell you why and how to ask for a review where the IT Rules require it.

If you are not satisfied

If you are not satisfied with our decision, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India under the IT Rules, within 30 days of receiving our decision.

For grievances about personal data, if our response does not resolve your concern, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
