Pharmacology

Platinum is an element with atomic symbol Pt, atomic number 78, and atomic weight 195.09.

How it is made

By dissolving the ore concentrate in aqua regia, precipitating the platinum by ammonium chloride as ammonium hexachloroplatinate, igniting the precipitate to form platinum sponge. This is then melted in an oxyhydrogen flame or in an electric furnace.
