Polyurethane-99

Used in cosmetic products as film forming. Polyurethane-99 is a polymer that is made in several steps. First, an ester polyol polymer is made by reacting Succinic Acid with 1,4-Butanediol and Neopentyl Glycol. The ester polyol is then reacted with Saturated Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate to form a polyurethane. The polyurethane is then chain extended and made water dispersible by reacting it with the sodium salt of 2-((2-aminoethyl)amino ethanesulfonic acid and Ethylenediamine.
