For the larger polymeric polysilsesquioxanes, some of the silicon atoms are not connected to other silicon atoms and instead have a silanol (SiOH) group. Methacryloyloxypropyl Polysilsesquioxane is prepared by the hydrolysis and condensation of Methacryloyl Propyltrimethoxysilane.
