Uses and applications
What the substance is used for, by industry and function
The active ingredient is no longer contained in any registered pesticide products ... "cancelled.".
Merphos is used to defoliate cotton @ 1.1 to 2.2 kg active ingredient/acre and can induce leaf abscission in some other plants, such as roses & hydrangeas.
Folex is particularly suited for total defoliation of cotton preparatory to machine harvesting because the natural action of folex causes the leaves to drop in a relatively green state with fresh weight adequate to cause them to fall to the ground.
Case: Merphos, Case No.: 2385, Pesticide type: Fungicide, Herbicide, Case Status: The pesticide is no longer an active ingredient in any registered pesticide products. Therefore, EPA is characterizing it as cancelled.
Use classes: Herbicides.
