Peramine is a pyrrolopyrazine that is pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazin-1(2H)-one substituted by methyl and 3-carbamimidamidopropyl groups at positions 2 and 3, respectively. It is isolated from perennial ryegrass infected with the endophytic fungus Acremonium lolia and exhibits antifeedant activity. It has a role as an antifeedant and a fungal metabolite. It is an alkaloid, a member of guanidines and a pyrrolopyrazine. It is a conjugate base of a peramine(1+).
