Retest date and expiry date
Definition
The date by which a material should be re tested before use (retest) or after which it should not be used (expiry).
APIs and many chemicals have a retest date. After it, the material can still be used if it is re tested and still meets its specification. Products that degrade in a way that cannot be managed by re testing have an expiry date instead.
Buyers often require a minimum remaining shelf life at delivery, such as at least two thirds of the total. Put this requirement in your request for quote.
