Shipping bill
Definition
The export declaration filed with Indian customs before goods are loaded for export.
The shipping bill describes the export goods, their value and the ITC(HS) code, and records any export incentive claimed, such as duty drawback or RoDTEP. It is filed electronically on ICEGATE, usually by a customs broker.
Once customs gives the let export order, the goods can be loaded. The shipping bill is later used to match foreign exchange receipts and export benefits.
