GHS and safety
Signal word
Definition
The word Danger or Warning on a GHS label, showing the relative severity of the hazard.
GHS uses two signal words. Danger is used for the more severe hazard categories and Warning for the less severe ones. A label carries only one signal word. If any hazard on the product calls for Danger, Danger is used.
Some low hazard categories have no signal word at all. The signal word appears on the label and in section 2 of the safety data sheet.
