Grades and purity
Electronic grade
Definition
Ultra high purity chemicals for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, with trace metals controlled at very low levels.
Electronic or semiconductor grade acids, solvents and gases are purified so that metal ions, particles and anions are kept extremely low, often at parts per billion or lower. SEMI standards define several grade levels for common process chemicals.
These products also need special packaging and handling to avoid contamination, so the container and filling process are part of the specification.
