Grades and purity
ACS grade
Definition
Laboratory reagent that meets or exceeds the specifications in the American Chemical Society's Reagent Chemicals.
ACS grade reagents meet the purity and test requirements published by the American Chemical Society in Reagent Chemicals. They are suitable for analytical work and many quality control tests.
ACS grade is a reagent standard, not a pharmaceutical or food standard. It does not mean the material was made under GMP or that it is suitable for use in medicines or food.
