Definition
The European Commission's database of cosmetic ingredients and their status under the EU Cosmetics Regulation.
CosIng lists cosmetic ingredient names, functions and any entries in the annexes of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, such as prohibited substances (Annex II), restricted substances (Annex III), colourants, preservatives and UV filters.
It is a useful first check for whether an ingredient can be used in EU cosmetics and at what level, but the legal text of the regulation is the reference.
