INCI name
Definition
The International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients name used on cosmetic ingredient lists worldwide.
INCI names are assigned by the International Nomenclature Committee coordinated by the Personal Care Products Council in the United States. They give each cosmetic ingredient one standard name, for example Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol or Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
Ingredient lists on cosmetic packs in the EU, US, India and many other countries use INCI names. Trade names of blends are listed with the INCI names of each component.
