Grades and purity
LR grade (laboratory reagent)
Definition
General purpose laboratory chemical of reasonable purity, for teaching, synthesis and qualitative work.
LR or laboratory reagent grade is a common trade grade for lab chemicals. Purity is usually good but impurity limits are wider or not stated, so LR material is not meant for quantitative analysis.
LR grade is a sensible, lower cost choice for educational labs, general synthesis and cleaning, as long as trace impurities do not matter.
