Fungicides

Fungicides are often sold as mixtures of actives with different modes of action to slow resistance, so formulators buy several technical ingredients at once. Copper fungicides such as copper oxychloride, copper hydroxide and cuprous oxide are sold on their metallic copper content, and sulfur is supplied in micronised and wettable grades.

Ask for the technical purity, relevant impurities (for example ethylenethiourea in dithiocarbamates such as mancozeb), particle size for suspension grades, and moisture. Several older fungicides, including mancozeb and chlorothalonil, have lost approval in the EU while remaining important elsewhere, so check registrations in your target country. Formulated fungicides are classified under HS subheading 3808.92.
