Plasticizers

Flexible PVC goes into cables, flooring, films, hoses, medical devices, toys and synthetic leather, and each use needs a plasticizer with the right efficiency, volatility, low temperature flexibility and migration resistance. Regulations have shifted the market away from low molecular weight ortho-phthalates such as DEHP, DBP, BBP and DIBP, which are restricted in many articles, toward DOTP, DINCH, citrates and high molecular weight phthalates.

Ask for ester content, acidity, colour, water, volatility and electrical properties for cable grades. Request food contact, toy and medical device compliance statements where they apply, and confirm that the product is free of restricted phthalates when you buy alternatives.
