About stabilizers and polymer additives
Polymer additives protect plastics during processing and use and give them special properties. The group includes primary antioxidants such as hindered phenols, secondary antioxidants such as phosphites and thioesters, heat stabilisers for PVC based on calcium, zinc, organotin or lead, UV absorbers and hindered amine light stabilisers, nucleating and clarifying agents, antistatic agents such as glycerol monostearate and ethoxylated amines, slip and antiblock agents such as erucamide and silica, processing aids and acid scavengers such as calcium stearate and hydrotalcite.

Additives are used at fractions of a percent to a few percent, so they are often supplied in masterbatches or one-pack blends. The right package depends on the polymer, the process temperature and the outdoor or indoor service life of the product.
Ask for assay, melting range, volatility, particle form (powder, granules or pastilles), and approvals for food contact and toys. Lead stabilisers have been phased out in many markets, and some organotin compounds are restricted, so confirm compliance for your region. Check that additives are compatible with recycling streams if your product must be recyclable.
